NaTran, formerly known as GRTgaz, proudly announces an exciting funding milestone as it secures 28,000,000 in fresh capital to support its ambitious strategic vision. Celebrating 20 years in 2025, the company is embracing a transformative new era under its rebranded name, NaTran, with the launch of the NaTran2030 project—a forward-thinking initiative dedicated to driving the energy transition and achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. This substantial funding is set to accelerate NaTran’s efforts in adapting its extensive gas transport network and operational practices to meet the emerging ecological, economic, and digital challenges of the modern era. Leveraging its strong reputation as the second-largest gas transport operator in Europe, NaTran remains committed to ensuring secure and efficient energy delivery to clients, while actively contributing to the broader sustainability agenda.
The investment will be instrumental in further enhancing the company's infrastructure and logistics solutions designed specifically for gases integral to the energy transition, including biomethane, hydrogen (H2), and carbon dioxide (CO2). In pursuit of its mission, NaTran also continues to drive innovation through its internationally renowned research center, NaTran R&I, formerly known as RICE, where pioneering research in sustainable energy technologies is forging new paths for the industry. Complementing its innovative pursuits, the company’s network of subsidiaries—Elengy, a leader in European methane terminals, and NaTran Deutschland, operator of the MEGAL network—strengthens its position as a key player in the energy landscape. With this new injection of capital, NaTran is well-equipped to not only meet current challenges but also to chart a sustainable future that supports global energy transformation and security for decades to come.
