NanoPharmaceuticals (NP) is proud to announce a significant milestone in our journey towards transforming cancer treatment—we have successfully raised $622,500 to further advance our groundbreaking precision drug, NP751. This pivotal funding comes at an exciting time as NP launches its first-in-human clinical trial for NP751, a novel drug that has already demonstrated promising efficacy in preclinical models against human glioblastoma (GBM) grafted into animal models. GBM, known for its aggressive nature and limited treatment options, currently offers patients an average survival time of just nine months, which only sees a modest improvement with the standard-of-care regimen that includes surgery and adjuvant chemotherapy. Our innovative approach aims to change this narrative by targeting a unique cell surface receptor, thyrointegrin αvβ3—a protein that plays a crucial role in regulating intracellular signaling pathways essential not only for cell cycle progression but also for shielding cancer cells from programmed cell death. Moreover, this receptor facilitates intercellular signaling that supports tumor propagation and the formation of new blood vessels to nourish tumors.
With the fresh infusion of capital, NP will expand its clinical trials to further evaluate the safety and efficacy of NP751 in a human population, with hopes of providing new therapeutic hope for patients battling GBM.
