In a significant boost to its operations and future growth, the Mobile Airport Authority (MAA) proudly announces the successful raising of $2,000,000 in funding. Established in 1980, MAA oversees an impressive footprint that spans over 4,500 acres of land and more than 6 million square feet of building space, particularly focused on enhancing logistics in air, land, sea, and ground transportation. This latest round of funding will be primarily directed towards further developing the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley and Mobile Regional Airport, two key facilities that have become integral to the aerospace industry's expansion in the region. The Mobile Aeroplex is not only home to major players like Airbus, which launched its first North American final assembly line there, but also houses several MRO operations and FAA Part 145 repair stations鈥攃reating approximately 2,000 jobs. The funding will enable MAA to enhance its ground leasing and building leasing options, ultimately offering even more integrated and efficient services to tenants and partners who enjoy direct runway access. This investment reflects MAA鈥檚 commitment to fostering an environment conducive to growth for aerospace suppliers and other businesses, while also laying the groundwork for new ventures that could further amplify the local economy. With a strategic focus on providing comprehensive turnkey solutions, MAA is positioned to play a pivotal role in sustaining and expanding its influence within the aerospace sector, making Mobile Airport Authority a valuable asset to the region and beyond.
