MiAlgae project has successfully secured $2,004,756 in investment capital from investors. This significant funding round will advance the company's innovative work in the livestock and pet feed industries, where it aims to revolutionize current practices by producing sustainable alternatives to traditional feed ingredients.
The company specializes in developing microalgae rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), designed to serve as a direct replacement for fishmeal. This addresses a pressing need within the feed supply chain, which is currently challenged by declining wild fish stocks and a rising global demand for Omega-3s. MiAlgae's solution offers an environmentally beneficial, effective, and simple method to deliver required nutrients to livestock and pets without the ecological strain associated with conventional fish-derived feed.
Central to MiAlgae's operations is its zero-waste process, which ingeniously recycles nutritional co-products from whisky production. This sustainable method cultivates Omega-3 rich microalgae while simultaneously returning clean water, embodying a circular economy approach. The recently secured capital is earmarked for scaling up production infrastructure, enhancing research and development initiatives, and expanding market reach. These efforts are pivotal for the company's strategic growth and operational expansion.
This investment is expected to significantly accelerate MiAlgaeās mission to create a product that substantially contributes to the sustainable production of livestock. By providing a viable and eco-friendly alternative, MiAlgae is poised to play a crucial role in fulfilling the nutritional needs of the growing world population, marking a significant step forward for sustainable agriculture and aquaculture.
