Loungers ltd, the established UK hospitality group, has successfully secured $30,000 in a recent funding announcement. This capital injection is earmarked to support the company's ongoing growth and operational expansion across its diverse portfolio of brands. Loungers is known for operating over 290 sites as of March 2025, encompassing its three distinct but complementary concepts: Lounge café-bar, Cosy Club bar and dining, and Brightside roadside dining.
Established in 2002 by co-founders Alex Reilley, Jake Bishop, and David Reid, Loungers has grown into an award-winning business focused on providing unique neighbourhood café-bar and dining experiences. Under the leadership of CEO Nick Collins and with the backing of Lion Capital Private Equity, the group demonstrated strong performance in the 52-week period ending 16 April 2023, reporting £283.5 million in revenue and £47.3 million in adjusted EBITDA. During the same period, Loungers expanded its footprint significantly by opening 29 new sites. The Lounge brand aims to be a "home from home," while Cosy Club offers a "sense of being somewhere special with a hint of nostalgia," and Brightside seeks to reinvigorate UK roadside dining.
This newly secured funding underscores sustained investor confidence in Loungers' proven business model and its ability to execute a consistent expansion strategy. The $30,000 investment will be directed towards further growth initiatives. While specific details on allocation were not provided, the capital is expected to support the continued development of new locations and the enhancement of existing offerings across its Lounge, Cosy Club, and Brightside venues, ensuring each brand continues to deliver on its distinct customer promise.
Looking ahead, this funding provides Loungers with additional resources to pursue its strategic objectives, reinforcing its position within the UK's casual dining and hospitality sectors. The company remains focused on its trajectory of opening new sites and continuing to cultivate unique and welcoming environments for its growing customer base, aiming to solidify its market presence and deliver sustained value.
