Landcare Tasmania is proud to announce a transformative funding milestone with a recent raise of $4,000,000 that will significantly enhance its mission to support, strengthen, and grow Tasmania’s community Landcare. As the peak body for community-led environmental initiatives across the state, Landcare Tasmania plays a pivotal role in mobilizing local landcarers who work tirelessly on the ground to improve natural and working landscapes. This new funding round, supported in partnership with the Tasmanian Government and through the Landcare Action Grants scheme, reinforces our commitment to a bottom-up approach where communities take ownership of environmental challenges and are actively involved in crafting sustainable solutions.
The funds will be strategically allocated to bolster a range of vital services and core functions that are central to our operations. This includes distributing grants for innovative on-ground projects such as invasive weed eradication, bushland revegetation, and sustainable farm management, alongside efforts to control erosion and restore beaches. Additionally, the funding will enhance support services including cost-effective group insurance for our members and robust representation of their interests at all levels of government. By empowering local initiatives, Landcare Tasmania is not only addressing immediate environmental sustainability needs but also building a resilient network that fosters long-term ecological stewardship.
This financial boost represents a shared investment in Tasmania’s natural future, paving the way for enhanced community resilience, environmental restoration, and sustainable development. We are excited by the opportunities this funding unlocks and are committed to ensuring that every dollar is reinvested to drive positive change, promote environmental health, and nurture the spirit of community innovation across the state.
