HyImpulse, a German aerospace company specializing in hybrid propulsion technology, has secured $15,000,000 in investment capital from private investors. This funding round underscores growing confidence in the company's approach to developing affordable and sustainable space access solutions. Headquartered in southern Germany, HyImpulse began in 2018 as a spin-off from the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and is focused on transforming hybrid propulsion into a scalable, real-world solution for various space applications.
The company is known for its work in hybrid propulsion, a technology it validated with the successful maiden flight of its SR75 suborbital rocket in 2024. This achievement demonstrated the effectiveness of its propulsion system, which aims to provide cost-effective access to space. HyImpulse’s product pipeline includes the SR75, a single-stage suborbital rocket capable of delivering up to 300 kg into microgravity. Looking ahead, the company is also developing the SL1, an orbital small satellite launcher with a launch planned for 2027, and an Orbital Transfer Vehicle (OTV) for in-space mobility and last-mile delivery.
This capital infusion is expected to accelerate HyImpulse's development roadmap and operational expansion.
