Formed by the collaboration between Birmingham St Mary’s and John Taylor Hospices, our organisation is steadfast in its vision of a future where every individual can live and die with dignity and comfort. This vital injection of funds will further strengthen our capability to extend personalised support to patients and families, whether at home, in local communities, or within our hospices. By alleviating financial burdens, these funds will enable us to continue offering our services completely free of charge, ensuring that essential care does not become a barrier during challenging times.
Furthermore, the funding will play a crucial role in expanding our comprehensive support system, which includes not only high-quality palliative care but also robust bereavement support for families and carers during and after a loved one’s passing. Investment in this funding round will also enhance our efforts in training health and social care professionals, GPs, nurses, and medical students through seminars, courses, and placements, ensuring that we remain at the forefront of compassion-driven care. As we strive to meet our annual goal of raising over £15 million to support our initiatives—with 60% coming from NHS contributions and the remainder from voluntary donations—this infusion of £1,100,000 reaffirms the community’s trust and belief in our mission.
