Holtec International has secured $400.0 million in new funding from investors. The company operates as a global turnkey supplier of equipment and services for the Nuclear, Solar, Geothermal, and Fossil Power Generation sectors of the energy and petrochemical industry. Holtec possesses comprehensive in-house capabilities to design, engineer, analyze, construct, license, and deploy its technologies, which include solutions for managing used nuclear fuel and waste, as well as wet and dry heat transfer equipment for commercial power plants. A significant area of its current focus is the development of a Small Modular Reactor (SMR), designed to provide modular, distributed, carbon-free, base-load energy. This substantial investment underscores confidence in Holtec's critical role within the global energy infrastructure.
The newly raised capital is earmarked to support Holtec International's strategic growth initiatives. These plans include accelerating the development and deployment of its innovative energy technologies, such as the SMR, and further strengthening its operational capabilities across its diverse portfolio. Holtec's industrial activities span six continents, with significant goods and services provided in countries including Britain, Spain, Switzerland, China, Ukraine, Canada, Mexico, and Brazil. The United States domestic market remains a catalyst for Holtec's technical innovations, consuming over 70% of its output and serving over 150 power generation stations, including more than 80 commercial nuclear power plants, over the past two decades.
This funding round is expected to enable Holtec International to expand its technological offerings and reinforce its position as a key provider in the evolving global energy landscape. The company aims to continue its mission of delivering advanced, reliable, and sustainable energy solutions to its customers worldwide, contributing to the transition towards more efficient and carbon-free power generation.
