Harvesting Hope: JK Community Farm Raises $40K to Cultivate Change in Northern Virginia

JK Community Farm is thrilled to announce that we have successfully raised $40,000 in funding to further our mission of alleviating hunger and advancing food education throughout Northern Virginia. Founded in 2018, our nonprofit farm is committed to growing nutrient-rich produce and protein while donating 100% of our harvest to local food pantries. This injection of funds will be instrumental in expanding our operations at our Loudoun County facility and enhancing our capacity to generate fresh, wholesome food. In the upcoming year, we are poised to grow and donate an impressive 245,000 lbs of produce and protein, including favorites such as sweet potatoes, lettuce, kale, turnips, sweet corn, bell peppers, tomatoes, zucchini, and more. The newly raised resources will allow us to invest in advanced growing techniques, sustainable farming supplies, and educational programs that empower communities with essential food knowledge. We are excited to increase volunteer opportunities, hosting not only individual and group engagements, but also corporate team-building events and enriching food education field trips. Our dedicated volunteers play a pivotal role in our success, and with the new funding, we intend to further support their efforts and deepen our community impact. This milestone is a celebration of community spirit and teamwork, reinforcing our commitment to making nutritious food accessible to those in need.
