Harvesters is a regional food bank serving a 27-county area encompassing northeastern Kansas and northwestern Missouri. Its core mission is to mobilize community resources to provide nutritious food and address the underlying causes of hunger. Through an extensive network, Harvesters supplies food and household products to over 760 nonprofit agencies, including food pantries, community kitchens, homeless shelters, and children’s homes. This network collectively provides food assistance to more than 226,000 people each month.
The recently secured capital will be utilized to strengthen the organization's logistical capabilities and expand its distribution efforts. This funding enables Harvesters to enhance its ability to deliver essential food items and household products to its numerous partner agencies, thereby increasing its reach and effectiveness in addressing community needs.
