We are thrilled to announce that Give A Dog A Bone...and an Animal a Home, our unique, award-winning charity (SC044440) dedicated to alleviating loneliness among those in their golden years and combating animal homelessness, has successfully raised £70,000 in new funding. This major milestone reinforces our commitment to ensuring that individuals over 60 have the opportunity to welcome a rescue pet companion into their lives—a companion that can make a remarkable difference in reducing isolation and improving overall well-being. Our organization has long believed that a pet is more than just an animal; it’s a trusted friend, a loyal confidant, and a vital source of comfort and joy. With this fresh infusion of funds, we will expand our innovative programs that not only provide financial support for pet adoption but also enhance the welcoming environment found at our three Community Spaces located in Glasgow, Troon, and Alloa. Here, local residents are invited to relax with a cuppa, partake in engaging activities, learn new skills, and build friendships through free group sessions and therapy treatments tailored specifically for our over-60 community. Additionally, our Charity Shops in Troon and Alloa will continue to serve as community hubs, fostering a sense of belonging while supporting our initiatives. We are deeply grateful to our donors and partners for their generosity and belief in our mission. If you would like to join us in creating a future where both people and animals can thrive, please get in touch with our Corporate Partnerships team at hello@giveadogabone.net. Together, we are making a lasting impact—one rescued pet companion and one joyful community at a time.
