Genedrive Diagnostics Ltd, a UK-based pharmacogenetic testing company, has announced it has secured $330,000 in new investment capital from investors. This funding round underscores a vote of confidence in the company's pioneering work in developing rapid diagnostic solutions for personalised medicine in emergency healthcare settings.
Genedrive Diagnostics is at the forefront of point-of-care pharmacogenetic testing. The company develops and commercialises simple-to-use platforms for diagnosing genetic variants that influence how individuals respond to medications. This approach enables medicine choices to be tailored to a patientās unique genetic makeup, leading to safer and more effective treatments.
The company has launched two flagship products: the GenedriveĀ® MT-RNR1 ID Kit and the GenedriveĀ® CYP2C19 ID Kit. The MT-RNR1 ID Kit is a world-first, allowing clinicians in neonatal intensive care units to make rapid decisions on antibiotic use within 26 minutes, avoiding potential adverse effects. The CYP2C19 ID Kit assists clinicians in making informed treatment decisions for stroke patients regarding the antiplatelet clopidogrel, based on their individual metabolism. Both kits were developed and validated in collaboration with NHS partners.
The newly raised capital will be instrumental in supporting Genedrive's ongoing development and commercialisation efforts. The company plans to use the funds to accelerate its growth initiatives, expand its operational capabilities, and broaden the market reach of its innovative diagnostic solutions. This investment is specifically aimed at boosting Genedrive's capacity to deliver its critical technologies.
This funding is expected to further solidify Genedrive's position as a leader in point-of-care pharmacogenetics, enabling the company to continue its mission of enhancing patient care through precision medicine and expanding its footprint in the healthcare industry.
