We are excited to announce that Epilepsy Action Australia has raised an impressive $185,500—a vital boost to our ongoing mission to save and improve the lives of those affected by epilepsy across the nation. As a leader in the community, our organization is dedicated to transforming lives through innovative services that increase epilepsy understanding, raise public awareness, empower individuals with critical skills, and drive groundbreaking research. This latest funding round is pivotal in helping us expand our core focus areas while reinforcing our foundational values of Care, Innovation, Collaboration, Action, and Education.
Our efforts to provide Assistance and Advice remain at the forefront, supplying essential care, personalized support, and reliable information to those living with epilepsy, along with their family and friends. With this funding, we are set to enhance our Education and Training programs further, offering comprehensive online courses and self-management resources designed for a diverse audience including children, teenagers, parents, healthcare professionals, teachers, aged care workers, and indigenous groups. Additionally, the investment will bolster our Understanding and Awareness initiatives by fueling seizure first aid training and public education campaigns aimed at dispelling myths and reducing stigma associated with epilepsy.
A significant portion of the funds will also be directed toward Supporting Research, where we continue to lead the charge in partnering with experts and testing new interventions, including pioneering trials of medicinal cannabis.
