Flying High: Scottish Seabird Centre Soars with £10,000 Funding Boost for Conservation and Education

We are excited to announce that the Scottish Seabird Centre has successfully raised £10,000 in our latest funding round, providing an incredible boost to our conservation and education initiatives. As a dedicated charity, our mission is to inspire people to care for wildlife and the natural environment through engaging, hands-on experiences and innovative learning opportunities. This recent investment will allow us to further enhance our award-winning visitor attraction, a cornerstone of our conservation work that reinvests income directly into vital projects managed by our committed staff and volunteers. The funds will be used to expand our Discovery Experience—where interactive live cameras offer visitors a unique window into Scotland’s marine life, from the impressive gannet colony on Bass Rock to the historic islands of Fidra, Isle of May, and Craigleith, home to our SOS Puffin Project. Additionally, the funding will support the development of new digital and virtual reality exhibits that bring the wonders of the marine ecosystem to life while spotlighting the crucial issue of invasive species control. Our education hub will also benefit, enhancing our capacity to run informative and engaging educational sessions for groups of all ages and abilities, and ensuring our live science shows continue to address topical environmental issues with clarity and passion. We are thrilled to welcome this vital support, which will help expand seasonal wildlife watching boat trips, improve our gift shop and café experiences, and ultimately contribute to our long-term vision of fostering a community that remains informed, inspired, and actively involved in marine conservation.
