A Series C funding round has brought $85.0M to Flare Therapeutics, the precision medicine company developing novel oncology treatments. The biotech firm specializes in drugging transcription factors, a challenging but promising target class, to create new therapies for cancer and other diseases.
Its lead candidate, FX-909, an orally available small molecule inhibitor of PPARG, has already shown clinical proof-of-concept in a Phase 1A study and is now actively dosing patients in Phase 1B for locally advanced or metastatic urothelial cancer. Flare also has a second lead program, FX-111, a degrader for the androgen receptor.
