Greater Mankato Area United Way is thrilled to announce a significant funding milestone, having successfully raised $85,000 to further support its mission of helping people in need. This accomplishment reaffirms our commitment to addressing the root causes of community challenges and ensuring a better quality of life for all. By connecting organizations through funding quality nonprofits and building essential partnerships, Greater Mankato Area United Way continues to serve as a vital catalyst for positive change across our service area. With 99 cents of every donation staying local and 87 cents directly invested in vital services, every dollar raised fuels programs that profoundly impact the lives of those struggling in our community.
This funding injection will enable us to expand and enhance initiatives that directly serve an impressive statistic—1 in 3 people in our area benefits from a GMAUW-funded program. The funds will be strategically allocated to support over 30 local nonprofits and more than 50 partner programs that operate within a 30-mile radius, encompassing communities in Blue Earth, Nicollet, Le Sueur, and Waseca Counties. Our focused efforts are designed to secure resources, mobilize donors and volunteers, and bridge the gaps in critical service areas. The raised funds will directly support programs in areas such as food security, mental health services, and economic empowerment, reinforcing the foundation of our community's well-being. As we celebrate this financial achievement, we remain committed to building sustainable solutions and forging stronger community ties so that every person in our area has the opportunity to thrive and succeed.
