Elmentoz Research Pvt. Ltd., a company developing circular economy solutions for the animal feed industry, has secured $4,500,000 in new investment from investors. This funding round will support the company's efforts to provide scalable, cost-effective, and sustainable protein sources, significantly reducing the environmental impact of traditional feed production.
The company focuses on integrating organic waste management with the production of rich insect protein. Elmentoz utilizes Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae to transform food waste into high-quality protein, which includes essential amino acids. This process not only provides a valuable feed ingredient but also contributes to climate resilience by reducing 300,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions and managing 2,400,000 metric tons of waste annually. Elmentoz's approach achieves substantial environmental benefits, including a 6-fold reduction in carbon footprint, a 207-fold decrease in water use, and a 107-fold reduction in land use compared to conventional methods.
Elmentoz's operations are optimized through an IoT-enabled model that supports decentralized insect farming. The BSF protein produced is versatile, finding applications in insect oil, poultry feed, shrimp feed, and sustainable pet food. This innovative approach addresses critical needs within the animal feed sector for more sustainable inputs.
The recently raised capital will be strategically deployed to scale Elmentoz’s operations, enhance its proprietary IoT-enabled insect farming technology, and expand its market presence. This investment underscores confidence in the company's circular economy model and its potential to foster a more resilient and eco-friendly supply chain for the animal feed industry. Elmentoz Research Pvt. Ltd. plans to leverage this funding to accelerate its growth initiatives and further establish its leadership in sustainable protein production.
