Electra Vehicles, Inc., an AI-driven cleantech and B2B software company focused on battery technology, has announced it has secured $21.0 million in new funding from investors. This capital infusion marks a significant step for the company as it continues to advance its solutions for optimizing battery performance and longevity across various industries.
The company specializes in unlocking the full potential of battery technology through its proprietary approach, which combines Agentic AI and Physical AI. This integration allows Electra to deliver end-to-end intelligence throughout the battery lifecycle, creating what it terms an "AI-Brain for batteries" or an AI-BMS. This system fuses advanced AI/ML software with real-world battery systems, enabling batteries to sense, reason, and act autonomously.
Electra's technology serves a broad spectrum of clients, including energy operators involved in grid-scale storage and renewables, data centers, and battery manufacturers. It also supports e-mobility leaders such as automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and fleet operators, alongside the growing sectors of robotics and autonomous systems. The company, co-founded in 2015 by Fabrizio Martini, whose initial concept stemmed from his work on a NASA project, aims to enable a cleaner, more resilient, and fully electrified energy future.
This funding round is expected to accelerate Electra Vehicles' strategic initiatives. The company plans to use the capital to further enhance its product development, expand its market presence, and scale its operational capabilities to meet increasing demand for its AI-powered battery intelligence solutions.
With this investment, Electra Vehicles is positioned to continue its growth trajectory, driving innovation in battery management and contributing to the global transition towards sustainable energy systems.
