We are thrilled to announce that Disability Arts Online (DAO) has successfully raised £1,000,000 for our Disability Justice Fund, marking a significant milestone in our ongoing mission to champion disability arts and culture. Established in 2004, DAO is a pioneering charitable arts organization led by disabled individuals, dedicated to breaking down barriers for artists and audiences alike. Our innovative platform showcases a diverse range of disability arts content while fostering a vibrant community of disabled creatives. The funds we have raised will be instrumental in expanding our artist development programs, enhancing accessibility for events, and strengthening our partnership initiatives aimed at promoting inclusion within the arts sector. With a commitment to nurturing creativity, connection, and critique, we recognize the importance of amplifying marginalised voices and fostering a more inclusive cultural landscape. By prioritizing intersectionality and challenging dominant narratives from a disability-led perspective, DAO aims to facilitate meaningful social change within the artistic community. This funding will empower us to create even more opportunities for disabled artists to thrive and be understood, ultimately advancing our vision of a world where disability is celebrated in all its diverse forms. Supported by Arts Council England, we are excited to pave the way for a more accessible and representative arts sector, where everyone has the chance to express their creativity and share their stories. Thank you to all our supporters who made this achievement possible; together, we can drive the change that disability arts truly deserve.
