CommunityHealth is thrilled to announce a major milestone in our mission to serve the uninsured and underserved: we have raised $10,000,000 in funding to expand our impact across Chicago and its surrounding communities. Founded in 1993, CommunityHealth has become a cornerstone in the provision of free, high-quality medical and dental care, delivering over 17,000 visits annually to more than 10,000 patients. This incredible achievement is a testament to the unwavering dedication of our 1,000+ volunteers, including a diverse team of 350+ providers ranging from physicians and nurses to dentists and counselors, all committed to compassionate care. With our primary facility, the Lederman Family Health Center, nestled in Chicago’s vibrant West Town neighborhood, and our Outreach satellite facility in Englewood on the south side, we stand as the largest volunteer-based free medical facility in the United States.
The substantial injection of funding will enable us to enhance our existing programs, expand our outreach services, and invest in state-of-the-art equipment to ensure that every community member has access to vital care. Each donation and every dollar raised translates into over $8 worth of lifesaving treatment, underscoring the profound ripple effect of community generosity. As we continue to operate without reimbursement from Medicare, Medicaid, or third-party payers, and rely on support from individuals, foundations, corporations, and institutions for more than 95% of our revenue, this funding is instrumental in sustaining our legacy of care. We extend our heartfelt thanks to our partners and supporters for believing in our mission and helping us transform lives through accessible, comprehensive healthcare.
