Communities In Schools of Nevada (CIS) has secured $20,000 in new funding, reinforcing its mission to empower students across the state. The organization, recognized as the nation’s leading evidence-based stay-in-school entity, works to ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their background. This capital injection underscores continued support for CIS of Nevada's vital programs.
CIS of Nevada currently serves 110 schools across the state, reaching nearly one in five Title I or high-needs schools. Their comprehensive approach addresses non-academic barriers to student success by connecting students and their families to critical community resources. In total, the Nevada chapter directly supports nearly 100,000 students attending 13 schools in Western Nevada, 15 schools in Northeastern Nevada, and 80 schools in Southern Nevada. Nationally, Communities In Schools provides services in over 3,270 schools in 25 states and the District of Columbia, impacting 1.8 million young people and their families annually.
This recently secured investment will be instrumental in supporting Communities In Schools of Nevada's ongoing operational activities and strategic growth initiatives. The organization plans to allocate the funds towards expanding its reach and enhancing the delivery of its evidence-based programs, which are designed to keep students engaged and on track to graduate. The funding round signifies a commitment from investors to the organization's impactful work in fostering educational equity and student well-being throughout Nevada.
Looking ahead, Communities In Schools of Nevada remains dedicated to its vision of creating a future where every child has the support they need to thrive inside and outside the classroom. The organization continues to focus on strengthening its community partnerships and expanding its critical services, aiming to positively impact an even greater number of students and families across the state.
