The City of Costa Mesa is excited to announce the successful raising of $1,500,000 in funding, aimed at further enhancing the vibrant community and cultural landscape of our beloved city. Renowned as one of California's most eclectic cities, Costa Mesa is positioned just a mile from the Pacific Coast and boasts a flourishing local economy and a diverse array of attractions, from the bustling South Coast Plaza to the world-class Segerstrom Center for the Arts. This latest injection of funds will be strategically allocated towards beautifying public spaces, promoting local arts initiatives, and supporting community programs that celebrate the creative spirit of our city. With a population of approximately 113,000 and the slogan “City of the Arts,” Costa Mesa has grown substantially since its incorporation in 1953, transforming from a semi-rural farming community into a dynamic urban center. The need for these funds is imperative, as they will help maintain our status as the capital of the action sports industry while also fueling our reputation as a culinary hotspot—recently recognized by Rand/McNally and USA Today as the best small town for restaurants west of the Mississippi River. The funding will play a crucial role in preserving our distinctive culture, fostering creativity, and improving our city’s infrastructure, ultimately ensuring that Costa Mesa remains a vibrant place to live, work, and play.
