CEL-SCI Corporation Secures $10.8 Million Funding for Innovative Cancer Immunotherapy: Multikine Transforming Treatment for Head and Neck Cancer Patients

CEL-SCI is at the forefront of immunotherapy, particularly with its investigational product, Multikine, which aims to support and activate a patient’s immune system before conventional cancer treatments begin. The recently completed Phase 3 study of Multikine involved 928 patients diagnosed with locally advanced primary squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck. Unlike traditional approaches that often wait until after standard therapies have been exhausted, CEL-SCI’s pioneering strategy focuses on administering Multikine at a critical juncture when the immune system remains intact and better poised to combat tumors. The data from this study has refined the target population for Multikine, highlighting its promising efficacy, particularly among patients with low PD-L1 tumor expression and no lymph node involvement. Remarkably, Multikine demonstrated a statistically significant reduction in the risk of death by half at the five-year mark compared to the control group. Furthermore, Multikine has received Orphan Drug designation from the FDA, paving the way for future regulatory approval.
