BuildingIQ, Inc. has secured $9.0 million in funding from investors. The company, listed on the ASX as BIQ, specializes in helping building owners and operators globally to reduce energy consumption, enhance operational efficiency, and improve occupant comfort. This is achieved through its proprietary 5i Platform of technology-enabled services, which provides an advanced Internet of Things (IoT) approach for buildings.
The 5i Platform is built upon five core pillars: data capture analysis, advanced modeling, measurement and verification, closed-loop predictive control, and expert human analysis. These elements enable BuildingIQ's services to deliver an optimized balance of energy savings, operational efficiency, and tenant comfort. The platform ingests and processes large, disparate data streams from various building systems and meters, performing predictive analytics to inform its services and those of its technology partners. BuildingIQ originated from Australia’s National Labs and maintains close collaborations with the US National Labs.
This capital infusion is intended to support BuildingIQ's ongoing growth initiatives and further development of its technology platform. The funding round underscores investor confidence in the company's ability to deliver measurable improvements in HVAC energy costs, LEED or NABERS ratings, and overall building market value, while also assisting facilities teams in operating buildings more cost-effectively. Existing investors in BuildingIQ include the Venture Capital unit of Siemens Financial Services, Paladin Capital, and Exto Partners.
Looking ahead, BuildingIQ plans to leverage this investment to expand its market presence and continue innovating its solutions, aiming to meet the increasing demand for intelligent building management systems that optimize performance and sustainability.
