Borders Forest Trust is thrilled to announce that we have successfully raised £35,000 in our latest funding round, a milestone that underscores the growing support for ecological restoration in Southern Scotland. Established in 1996, our charity has long been dedicated to reviving the native woodland habitats in an area that holds the distinction of having the lowest percentage of indigenous woodlands in mainland Scotland. This injection of funds will be crucial in advancing our mission of planting trees, restoring peatlands, and rejuvenating other vital natural habitats across approximately 31 square kilometers of the Southern Uplands. With this financial boost, we plan to accelerate our large-scale ecological restoration projects that not only revive the landscape but also enrich the biological diversity of the region.
