Ava, a startup born from a deeply personal mission to make the world fully accessible for deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals, has secured $1.0M in Seed funding. Co-founded by CEO Thibault, who grew up in a Deaf family, and CTO Skinner, deaf since age two, the company is reinventing AI-based speech recognition to provide live captioning of conversations. Their goal is to empower the 466 million people globally who are often excluded from daily interactions, making communication as effortless as turning on TV captions and lifting a critical barrier to collective potential.
