Applied Polymer Technologies (APT) Secures $

Applied Polymer Technologies (APT) has secured $702,000 in investment capital from investors. The company, known as the Applied Polymer Technologies Gateway, provides world-class solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and multinational companies. APT specializes in the application of polymer materials across critical sectors including medical, composite, recycling, and pharmaceutical industries.

APT operates as a technology gateway, co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union through the ERDF Southern, Eastern & Midland Regional Programme 2021-27. It is hosted within PRISM, the Polymer, Recycling, Industrial, Sustainability and Manufacturing Research Institute at the Technological University of the Shannon: Midlands (TUS). PRISM is an interdisciplinary materials science and technology research centre with a strong track record in delivering industry-beneficial research.

The PRISM Institute, where APT is based, is an internationally connected group of researchers dedicated to developing industry-relevant solutions in polymer science and engineering. Its researchers are involved in various national and international projects and centres, including the Enterprise Ireland Funded APT Technology Gateway Centre and other Science Foundation Ireland centres for Advanced Materials and Bioengineering (Amber), Smart Manufacturing (Confirm), and Medical Devices (Cúram). This robust research ecosystem underpins APT's capabilities.

This new capital infusion will enable APT to accelerate its research and development initiatives, further enhancing its capacity to innovate within polymer technologies. The funds are planned to be used for growth initiatives, expanding its service offerings and strengthening its position as a key provider of polymer material solutions. APT aims to continue its trajectory of growth, supporting industrial advancements and contributing to sustainable practices across its target sectors.
