Alice Springs Town Council is excited to announce that we have successfully raised $100,000 to further enhance our services and community projects. Since becoming a Municipality in 1971, we have grown to a dedicated team of approximately 180 employees, all working tirelessly at facilities such as the Civic Centre, Public Library, Aquatic and Leisure Centre, Regional Waste Management Facility, and Works Depot. This remarkable achievement in funding is a testament to the strong support of our community and our ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality, customer-focused services that truly make a difference.
The new funds will be strategically invested to expand and improve key services that impact every aspect of life in Alice Springs. Key initiatives include further development of our waste management and recycling programs at the Regional Waste Management Facility, ensuring sustainability and environmental excellence. We also aim to bolster cultural support and community events like our much-loved Night Markets, Todd River Tucker, and Christmas Carnival, which foster community spirit and unity. Additionally, we plan to enhance our facilities at the Alice Springs Public Library and the Aquatic and Leisure Centre—vital locations that serve over 120,000 library visitors annually and offer unique year-round fitness and learn-to-swim programs as the only public indoor aquatic facility in the Northern Territory.
This funding not only reinforces our commitment to maintaining and improving vital infrastructure such as roads, parks, and recreational facilities but also supports our long-term vision of a vibrant, thriving community. We recognize that our employees are our greatest asset, and with this investment, we are poised to continue delivering excellent services and innovative solutions that enrich the lives of our citizens.
