Infonas has acquired Zain Group for an undisclosed amount, marking a significant consolidation in the Middle East and Africa's telecommunications and ICT sectors. Zain Group is a prominent provider of innovative ICT technologies and digital lifestyle communications, operating across eight markets in the Middle East and Africa. As of September 30, 2025, Zain served 51.3 million active customers, offering mobile voice, data, and B2B services in Kuwait, Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, and South Sudan.
Headquartered in the UAE, Zain Group's portfolio includes ZainTECH, a one-stop digital and ICT solutions provider crucial for enterprise and government digital transformation across the MENA region. Also based in the UAE, Zain Omantel International (ZOI) is a key player in the international telecommunications wholesale landscape, serving regional operators, international carriers, and global hyperscalers. Additionally, Zain holds a 15.5% stake in ‘INWI’ in Morocco through a joint venture. Zain Group is publicly listed on the Boursa Kuwait.
This acquisition is strategically positioned to expand Infonas's market reach and enhance its service capabilities across a critical growth region. By integrating Zain Group's extensive network, established customer base, and comprehensive service offerings, Infonas gains immediate access to a robust operational footprint and a diversified revenue stream. The move is expected to create synergies by combining operational efficiencies and leveraging Zain's expertise in digital transformation and wholesale telecommunications.
The combined entity is anticipated to strengthen its position as a leading regional player, capable of delivering advanced ICT and digital services to a broader customer base. This integration aims to drive innovation and capitalize on the growing demand for digital solutions across the Middle East and Africa, fostering continued growth and market leadership under Infonas's ownership.
