VoltAero's Cassio family includes three versions, seating from five to 12 persons, tailored for efficient regional commercial operations such as air taxi, charter services, and utility applications like cargo and medical evacuation. The aircraft feature a unique dual-mode propulsion system, utilizing a Safran ENGINeUS electric motor for all-electric flight phases and a Kawasaki Motors internal combustion engine as a range extender and fail-safe backup. This patented system promises higher performance and significantly lower operational costs compared to current alternatives, with production planned at a 2,400-square-meter facility in Rochefort, France.
