Umai Group has acquired Umai Group for an undisclosed amount, a strategic move consolidating the operations of Kyrgyzstan’s largest FMCG operator. The company, which has been involved in modern retail since 2002, manages the country’s leading retail chains: Globus, Narodnyi, Dostor, and SPAR. These chains collectively encompass over 150 stores of various formats, serving more than 300,000 customers daily across Kyrgyzstan.
For over 24 years, Umai Group has been instrumental in setting modern retail standards within Kyrgyzstan, focusing on developing logistics infrastructure, implementing digital solutions, and enhancing the customer experience to make quality goods accessible. This acquisition is understood to be a strategic consolidation aimed at streamlining operations, enhancing internal efficiencies, and further strengthening the unified market position of the Umai Group. It underscores a commitment to continuous development and building trust, aligning with the company's mission to create beloved brands and show care for society and its employees.
The combined entity, now formally unified through this acquisition, will leverage its extensive network and operational expertise. As one of Kyrgyzstan’s largest employers with over 7,500 employees, Umai Group invests significantly in talent development and corporate culture. The strategic benefits of this consolidation are expected to include enhanced resource allocation, optimized decision-making processes, and a more cohesive approach to market expansion and innovation. This move is anticipated to further solidify Umai Group's leadership in the FMCG sector, enabling it to continue contributing to the sustainable development of Kyrgyzstan’s economy and society through its business and social initiatives.
