Certerra RMA Group has acquired Testing Engineers, Inc. for an undisclosed amount. The transaction brings the San Francisco Bay Area-based special inspection and materials testing firm under the ownership of Certerra RMA Group, which expands its operational footprint in Northern California.
Testing Engineers, Inc operates as a special inspection and material testing laboratory, offering services that include X-ray analysis, ground penetrating radar, soils compaction and testing, consulting engineering, load testing, water infiltration testing, product testing, fiber reinforced polymer applications, and screw testing. Certerra RMA Group, which provides similar technical services, gains direct access to this established service portfolio and the Bay Area client base that comes with it.
The acquisition is strategic for Certerra RMA Group because it adds a complementary set of specialized testing capabilities to its existing operations. The target company’s expertise in non-destructive testing methods, such as X-ray and ground penetrating radar, broadens the range of projects the combined firm can handle. For Testing Engineers, Inc, joining a larger group provides access to greater administrative resources and a wider geographic reach, which may support more efficient project delivery.
The deal is expected to create operational efficiencies by consolidating laboratory functions and sharing technical staff across projects. Clients of Testing Engineers, Inc should see continuity in service offerings, while Certerra RMA Group can now market a more comprehensive suite of inspection and testing solutions in the region. No changes to existing contracts or staffing levels have been announced.
With the acquisition complete, the combined entity is positioned to pursue larger infrastructure and commercial projects that require multiple testing disciplines. The integration of Testing Engineers, Inc’s specialized methods into Certerra RMA Group’s broader service model will likely take place over the coming months, with a focus on maintaining service quality during the transition.
