Komatsu has acquired SRC of Lexington, Inc. for an undisclosed amount. This corporate acquisition sees Komatsu, a global manufacturer of construction, mining, and utility equipment, integrate SRC of Lexington's specialized remanufacturing capabilities. The transaction marks a strategic move to enhance Komatsu's service offerings and support infrastructure within its core markets.

SRC of Lexington, an employee-owned company, operates a 77,000 sq ft facility equipped with modern machinery. It specializes in the remanufacture of engines, engine components, hydraulics, and power-train products. Serving original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and large customers across the construction, mining, and oil and gas industries, SRC is an ISO 9001:2008 certified supplier. Its product range includes large diesel engines (11-78L), cylinder heads, hydraulic pumps, travel motors, transmissions, and axle assemblies, among others.

The acquisition is strategically significant for Komatsu, aiming to bolster its aftermarket support and sustainability initiatives. By integrating SRC's expertise in remanufacturing, Komatsu expects to extend the lifecycle of its equipment components, reduce operational costs for customers, and contribute to a more circular economy. SRC's established relationships with market leaders and its certified processes are anticipated to provide immediate synergies, enhancing Komatsu's ability to deliver high-quality, cost-effective component solutions.

This integration is expected to strengthen Komatsu's global service network and expand its capacity for providing remanufactured parts. The combined entity is positioned to offer a broader range of sustainable solutions, supporting equipment uptime and operational efficiency for customers in the demanding construction, mining, and energy sectors worldwide.
