SOCAR Türkiye has acquired SOCAR Türkiye for an undisclosed amount, marking a significant strategic consolidation within the prominent energy group. This transaction underscores a move towards further operational integration and efficiency for the Turkish subsidiary of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan.

The acquiring entity, SOCAR Turkey Enerji A.Ş., is a cornerstone of Turkey's industrial landscape, having commenced operations in 2008 with the acquisition of a 51% stake in Petkim. It has since grown into Turkey's largest industrial group, driving major projects that are set to reach $19.5 billion upon completion. Its extensive portfolio includes leading companies such as Petkim, TANAP, STAR Refinery, SOCAR Terminal, Petkim RES, Bursagaz, Kayserigaz, SOCAR Enerji Ticaret, SOCAR Ticaret, and SOCAR Depolama. The target entity, also operating under the SOCAR Türkiye brand, similarly focuses on core investment areas including petrochemical products and trade, refining, and natural gas trade and distribution, embodying the group's integrated approach across these sectors.

This acquisition is strategically aimed at deepening the group's already robust integration across its diverse operations. SOCAR Türkiye has explicitly completed its integration process in refining, petrochemicals, energy, logistics, distribution, and storage. This internal consolidation is expected to further streamline management, optimize resource allocation, and enhance the synergistic benefits derived from its interconnected businesses. The move will reinforce the group's status as the first company in Turkey to receive 'Special Industrial Zone' status for its Aliağa lands, fostering greater cohesion and operational agility.

As a unified and further integrated entity, SOCAR Türkiye is poised to continue its role as a symbol of increasing economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey. The combined operations are expected to strengthen Turkey's position in the international energy arena, driven by SOCAR Türkiye's ongoing investments and its unwavering belief in the nation's potential. This strategic step ensures the group's sustained contribution to both economies and its continued growth as a leading industrial powerhouse.
