Established in 1982, the Sisters of Charity Health System served as the parent corporation for the sponsored ministries of the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine, continuing a legacy of high-quality care since 1851.
The Sisters of Charity Health System's portfolio includes two Catholic hospitals: St. Vincent Charity Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio, and Mercy Medical Center in Canton, Ohio. Beyond direct patient care, the system oversees three grantmaking foundations in Cleveland, Canton, and Columbia, South Carolina, which support community initiatives addressing poverty. Its outreach organizations encompass Joseph’s Home for homeless men, the Early Childhood Resource Center, Healthy Learners for low-income children, and the South Carolina Center for Fathers and Families. Additionally, the system provides residential elder care through Regina Health Center and Light of Hearts Villa in Ohio.
