EV Company has acquired Scientific Data Systems, Inc., the Houston-based developer of the Warrior Universal Panel, for an undisclosed amount. The deal transfers ownership of the surface logging and perforating system, along with its existing license base of over 15,000 daily users across oil and gas, geothermal, and water well operations, to the acquiring firm.

Scientific Data Systems, founded in 1993, built the Warrior Universal Panel as a single surface unit that combines logging and perforating workflows. The system is designed as a direct drop-in replacement for existing hardware, compatible with 95% of addressable switches across manufacturers, and requires no changes to cabling or connectors. Its purpose-built interfaces provide separate real-time visualizations for logging runs and perforating stage work, with the stated goal of letting crews learn the platform in hours rather than weeks.

For EV Company, the acquisition adds a mature, open-platform product that fits into existing field operations without forcing proprietary hardware or switching costs. The strategic rationale centers on gaining a widely deployed surface system that works with tools and telemetry from multiple vendors, allowing EV Company to expand its footprint in wellsite technology without rebuilding integration from scratch. The Warrior platform’s compatibility with a broad range of switches and its established daily usage provide a base for cross-selling additional services.

The transaction is expected to close with Scientific Data Systems’ existing team and operations remaining in Houston, ensuring continuity for current license holders. The combined entity will focus on maintaining the Warrior system’s open architecture while exploring deeper integration with EV Company’s broader product line. For customers, the near-term outlook is unchanged: the same hardware, same software, and same support channels, with the potential for expanded capabilities as the two engineering teams begin working together.
