MiMedx has acquired Sanara MedTech in a deal valued at $350.0 million. The transaction brings together two companies operating in the advanced wound care and surgical tissue repair sectors, with Sanara MedTech’s shareholders receiving cash for their shares.

Sanara MedTech develops, markets, and distributes surgical, wound care, and skin care products to physicians, hospitals, clinics, and post-acute care settings across North America. Its portfolio focuses on evidence-based healing solutions designed to produce efficacious outcomes at a lower overall cost. MiMedx, the acquiring party, is a supplier of placental tissue-based products for wound care and surgical applications, and the purchase expands its commercial reach into additional care settings.

The acquisition is strategic for MiMedx because it adds a complementary product line and broadens the customer base beyond its existing hospital-focused distribution. Sanara MedTech’s established relationships with clinics and post-acute care facilities offer MiMedx a channel to reach patients who require ongoing wound management outside traditional hospital environments. For Sanara MedTech, the deal provides access to MiMedx’s larger sales infrastructure and manufacturing capabilities, which could accelerate the commercialization of its existing products.

The combined entity is expected to offer a more comprehensive range of healing solutions, from surgical repair to chronic wound care, while leveraging shared distribution networks to reduce overhead. MiMedx has stated that the acquisition will be immediately accretive to its earnings, though specific integration timelines have not been disclosed. The transaction has been approved by both companies’ boards and is subject to customary closing conditions.

Following the close, the focus will be on integrating Sanara MedTech’s product portfolio into MiMedx’s existing operations and expanding sales force training to cover the newly acquired lines. The deal positions the combined company to compete more effectively in the North American advanced wound care market, where demand for cost-effective, evidence-based treatments continues to grow.
