Dutch Bros Coffee has acquired Salad and Go for $105.0 million in an all-cash transaction. The deal, finalized this week, brings the fast-casual drive-thru salad chain under the ownership of the Oregon-based coffee company. Salad and Go will continue to operate as a standalone brand, with its existing leadership team remaining in place to manage day-to-day operations.

Salad and Go operates a chain of drive-thru restaurants focused on making fresh, nutritious food convenient and affordable. The company’s menu features salads made with freshly chopped vegetables and house-made dressings, alongside other healthy options, all served at fast-food speed and price points. Dutch Bros Coffee, known for its drive-thru coffee stands and a loyal customer base across the western United States, sees the acquisition as a way to broaden its footprint in the quick-service restaurant sector.

The strategic rationale centers on operational overlap. Both companies rely on drive-thru formats, efficient service models, and a focus on speed and convenience. Dutch Bros can leverage its real estate expertise and supply chain infrastructure to support Salad and Go’s expansion, while Salad and Go’s menu offers Dutch Bros a pathway into the lunch and dinner dayparts, complementing its morning-focused coffee sales. The deal also gives Dutch Bros access to Salad and Go’s existing locations, which are concentrated in the Southwest.

For Salad and Go, the acquisition provides access to Dutch Bros’ capital resources and operational scale, which could accelerate its growth plans without the need for additional external financing. The brand’s mission of making healthy food accessible aligns with broader consumer trends toward better-for-you options, a segment Dutch Bros has not previously served.

The combined entity will operate over 1,000 locations across multiple states, with Dutch Bros focusing on integrating back-office functions while keeping both brands distinct at the store level. The companies expect to complete the transition by the end of the fiscal year, with no immediate changes to menus, pricing, or staffing announced.
