ADES - Advanced Energy Systems

ADES - Advanced Energy Systems has acquired Saipem for an undisclosed amount. This strategic acquisition sees ADES take ownership of Saipem, a global leader in the engineering and construction of major projects for the energy and infrastructure sectors, operating both offshore and onshore. The move significantly expands ADES's operational capabilities and market reach within the evolving energy landscape.

Saipem is structured into distinct business lines, including Asset Based Services, Drilling, Energy Carriers, Offshore Wind, and Sustainable Infrastructures. The company boasts substantial physical assets, comprising five fabrication yards and an offshore fleet of 17 owned construction vessels and 12 drilling rigs, nine of which are owned. With a presence in over 50 countries and a workforce of approximately 30,000 people, Saipem is committed to technological innovation and supporting clients on the energy transition pathway towards Net Zero, utilizing digital means and environmentally sustainable technologies.

This acquisition is strategically significant for ADES, integrating Saipem's deep engineering expertise, extensive asset base, and global project execution capabilities. The combination is expected to generate synergies by leveraging Saipem's established presence in traditional energy alongside its growing focus on offshore wind and sustainable infrastructure projects. This aligns with ADES's broader objectives in advanced energy systems, enhancing its capacity to deliver complex, large-scale solutions across the energy value chain and accelerate its role in the global energy transition.

The combined entity is poised to strengthen its position as a comprehensive provider of energy and infrastructure solutions. By integrating Saipem's robust operational framework and commitment to sustainability with ADES's strategic direction, the acquisition aims to create a more diversified and resilient enterprise, better equipped to address future demands in the global energy and infrastructure markets.
