Verizon Business has acquired Ripple Fiber, a fiber-optic internet provider serving residential and business customers across ten states. The companies did not disclose the financial terms of the transaction.
Ripple Fiber, founded in 2021, operates a 10-gig, 100% fiber-optic network that delivers high-speed internet to thousands of homes and businesses. The company has focused on expanding access to reliable, future-proof connectivity in communities where it operates. Verizon Business, a division of Verizon Communications, provides network and communications services to enterprise and public-sector clients, with an existing portfolio of fiber and wireless solutions.
The acquisition gives Verizon Business direct ownership of Ripple Fiber’s network infrastructure and its customer base, rather than relying solely on wholesale agreements or third-party providers. For Verizon, the deal expands its fiber footprint in regional markets where Ripple Fiber has established a presence, supporting its broader strategy to offer integrated connectivity options to business customers. Ripple Fiber’s existing operations will continue under Verizon Business, with the acquired network expected to be folded into Verizon’s service delivery framework.
For Ripple Fiber, the transaction provides access to Verizon’s scale, operational resources, and enterprise sales channels, which could accelerate the deployment of its fiber network to additional communities. The company’s management team and field operations are expected to remain in place to manage day-to-day activities during the transition. Verizon Business has not announced immediate changes to Ripple Fiber’s service plans or pricing for existing customers.
The combined entity will focus on integrating Ripple Fiber’s regional network with Verizon’s broader infrastructure, with an emphasis on serving small and mid-sized businesses that require high-capacity connections. The deal also positions Verizon to respond to growing demand for fiber-based services in areas where Ripple Fiber has already laid groundwork. As the integration proceeds, the companies will work to align technical standards and customer support processes, with further details on network expansion expected in the coming quarters.
