Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals has acquired PRV International for $215.0 million in an all-cash transaction. The deal, which closed earlier this week, transfers full ownership of the trading firm to the California-based biopharmaceutical company. PRV International will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary under Arrowhead’s corporate structure.
PRV International is a trading firm specializing in textiles trade between Turkey and the European Union. Active in over 10 countries, the company serves as the exclusive distributor in the EU for Touché Privé, a leading modest fashion brand based in Turkey. Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals, by contrast, develops RNA interference therapeutics for diseases with high unmet medical need, including cardiometabolic and pulmonary conditions.
The acquisition is unusual in that it pairs a clinical-stage drug developer with a cross-border textile distributor. Arrowhead stated that the purchase provides a new revenue stream and a physical distribution network in the EU, which could support future logistics for its own product supply chain. For PRV International, the deal offers access to Arrowhead’s financial resources and operational infrastructure, allowing the trading firm to expand its EU distribution footprint without taking on additional debt.
No changes to PRV International’s management team or its existing contracts with Touché Privé have been announced. The transaction was funded from Arrowhead’s existing cash reserves, and the company confirmed that no additional financing was raised to complete the purchase. Regulatory approvals in the relevant jurisdictions were obtained prior to closing.
The combined entity will now manage two distinct business lines: pharmaceutical development and textile trading. Arrowhead has indicated that PRV International’s operations will remain separate from its core research activities, with the subsidiary reporting directly to the parent company’s finance division. The near-term focus will be on integrating financial reporting systems and maintaining continuity for PRV’s existing EU clients.
