Brose Sitech Group has acquired Proseat Group for an undisclosed amount, solidifying its standing in the automotive seating and interior components sector. This acquisition marks a significant strategic move for Brose Sitech, a key developer and manufacturer of vehicle seats and seat structure components primarily for Volkswagen Group brands.
Brose Sitech Group, with nearly 5,000 employees, operates seven production sites across Poland, Germany, China, and the Czech Republic. The company specializes in producing complete carsets and seat structure components, delivered just-in-sequence to major automotive production lines. Its robust development capabilities include over 200 dedicated engineers who cover the entire spectrum of seat development, from pre-development and design to extensive testing and series production support for Volkswagen, Audi, and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.
The acquisition is strategically aligned with the evolving landscape of automotive interiors. Seats are critical for comfort and design, and the interior is increasingly seen as a mobile living space, driven by trends like electro-mobility, autonomous driving, and cross-system networking. These changes demand new, flexible, and personalized design options. Integrating Proseat Group's operations is expected to broaden Brose Sitech’s capabilities, enabling the combined entity to more comprehensively address these complex and dynamic market requirements.
Expected synergies include an expanded market presence and a strengthened portfolio of technologies and solutions for advanced automotive seating. The consolidation will allow the unified organization to leverage shared expertise and resources efficiently, fostering innovation in areas crucial for the future of vehicle interiors. This strategic move positions the combined company to meet the accelerating industry demand for sophisticated, comfortable, and technologically advanced mobile living spaces within the automotive sector.
