Polymed has acquired PendraCare, a Dutch medical devices company, for an undisclosed amount. This corporate acquisition signifies Polymed’s strategic expansion within the global medical technology sector, specifically strengthening its capabilities in specialized medical instruments. PendraCare, established in 2004, is recognized for its innovative development and manufacturing of high-quality medical products, serving the cardiology, urology, and gastroenterology markets.

PendraCare’s operations encompass both proprietary product lines and extensive OEM services. Its own product offerings include the Pointer Diagnostic Catheter and Primum Guiding Catheter, distributed globally. Furthermore, PendraCare acts as a key partner for other leading medical device companies, providing OEM manufacturing and R&D for a variety of diagnostic and guiding catheters, PTA & PTCA balloon catheters, and catheters for urology and gastroenterology. The company boasts ISO-13485 certification and a proficient Regulatory Approval team experienced in securing CE and FDA approvals, alongside an operations team skilled in 6-sigma and lean principles, including clean room assembly. PendraCare is currently a division of Wellinq, a Dutch high-tech firm.

This acquisition is strategically designed to expand Polymed’s presence in critical therapeutic areas and to enhance its technological and manufacturing capabilities. Polymed aims to integrate PendraCare’s specialized product portfolio, advanced manufacturing infrastructure, and established global distribution channels. The rationale extends to leveraging PendraCare’s proven expertise in navigating complex regulatory landscapes, including securing essential CE and FDA approvals, which are paramount in the medical device industry. This integration is expected to bolster Polymed's competitive position and innovation pipeline.

Expected synergies from this integration include a more comprehensive product offering and a significantly expanded global market reach for the combined entity. The merger will also consolidate R&D resources and manufacturing efficiencies, driving further innovation in medical device solutions. This strategic move is anticipated to create a more robust and agile enterprise, better equipped to meet the evolving demands of healthcare providers and deliver advanced medical solutions to patients worldwide.
