Reliis has acquired Patrys Limited for an undisclosed amount in a corporate acquisition. Melbourne, Australia-based Patrys is a publicly-listed drug development company on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX: PAB), specializing in antibody therapies for oncology. Since its listing in 2007, Patrys has developed two distinct technology platforms: IgM monoclonal antibodies and a suite of nuclear penetrating antibodies designed for cancer therapy.
Patrys has a track record of advancing its pipeline, including successfully out-licensing a clinical candidate for the Chinese market and conducting two clinical trials with another lead candidate from its IgM platform. More recently, the company in-licensed a suite of novel nucleus-penetrating antibodies, Deoxymab and 5C6, from Yale University, which it intends to progress through development. This acquisition by Reliis represents a strategic move to integrate Patrys's innovative oncology assets and scientific expertise.
The acquisition is expected to generate significant synergies, combining Patrys's promising drug candidates and established development capabilities with Reliis's resources. Patrys's focus on advancing lead candidates from both its IgM and nuclear penetrating antibody platforms towards the market, either self-funded or co-developed, aligns with Reliis's strategic objectives in expanding its therapeutic portfolio. This transaction is poised to accelerate the development and commercialization of novel cancer treatments.
Looking ahead, the combined entity aims to leverage Patrys's scientific innovation and pipeline to enhance its position in the competitive oncology landscape. The integration is expected to streamline development pathways and bring potentially life-changing antibody therapies closer to patients, reinforcing a commitment to addressing unmet medical needs in cancer treatment.
