Biophore India Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd. has acquired Par Health for an undisclosed amount. The transaction transfers ownership of Par Health’s entire operations, including its manufacturing facilities and product portfolio, to the Hyderabad-based pharmaceutical company. Par Health will operate as a wholly owned unit of Biophore, with its existing brand and product lines retained.
Par Health describes itself as an essential pharmaceutical company focused on generic medicines, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), and sterile injectables. Its portfolio spans multiple therapeutic areas and delivery technologies, serving patients and healthcare providers with what it calls proven medicines for everyday and specialized care. Biophore India Pharmaceuticals is a research-driven manufacturer and supplier of APIs and intermediates, with a growing presence in regulated markets.
The acquisition is strategic for Biophore because it adds Par Health’s finished dosage form capabilities and sterile injectable manufacturing to Biophore’s existing API-focused operations. This vertical integration allows Biophore to supply its own active ingredients to Par Health’s production lines, reducing external dependencies and improving supply chain control. For Par Health, the deal provides access to Biophore’s broader research infrastructure and global distribution network, which could help expand the reach of its generic product range.
The combined entity is expected to offer a more complete product chain, from raw material synthesis to final drug delivery. Biophore gains immediate entry into the sterile injectables segment, a category with high entry barriers due to regulatory requirements. Par Health, in turn, gains financial and operational backing to maintain its manufacturing standards while potentially accelerating development of new dosage forms.
The acquisition is now complete, and integration of Par Health’s operations into Biophore’s corporate structure is underway. The companies have not disclosed further financial details or specific changes to leadership. Market observers will watch how the combined portfolio performs in the competitive generics sector, particularly in the United States and other regulated markets where Par Health has an established presence.
