Aquatech has acquired Metichem, a provider of specialty water treatment chemicals, engineered equipment packages, and operations and maintenance services, for an undisclosed amount. The transaction brings Metichem under Aquatech’s corporate umbrella, with the acquired company now operating as an Aquatech entity.

Metichem brings more than 66 years of expertise in water treatment programs for boiler, cooling tower, reverse osmosis, wastewater, and process water applications. Its offerings include digital technologies, automation, onsite technical services, and engineered equipment packages, alongside comprehensive operations and maintenance services aimed at maximizing system reliability and asset longevity. The company serves customers across more than 46 countries, with a focus on industries such as district cooling, power generation, oil and gas, petrochemicals, metals, mining, fertilizers, food processing, sugar, palm oil, and hospitality.

For Aquatech, the acquisition expands its portfolio into chemical treatment and service-led solutions, complementing its existing water and wastewater systems capabilities. The deal is intended to strengthen Aquatech’s position in industrial water management by combining Metichem’s regional market knowledge with Aquatech’s global innovation reach. The combined offering is expected to provide customers with a more integrated approach to optimizing water and wastewater systems, improving operational performance, and reducing environmental impact.

The integration will focus on aligning Metichem’s service network and chemical programs with Aquatech’s broader technology platform. Both companies have stated a shared commitment to advancing sustainable water management, with the combined entity aiming to address complex water challenges across industrial and community settings. No further financial details of the transaction have been disclosed.
