Cadeler has acquired Menck for an undisclosed amount, a transaction that brings the offshore wind installation specialist together with a provider of foundation installation technology. The deal, finalized this week, adds Menck’s suite of hydraulic impact hammers and related services to Cadeler’s existing fleet and operational capabilities.

Menck, a company with over 150 years of engineering history, supplies specialist tools and services for installing fixed-bottom offshore foundations. Its portfolio includes noise mitigation systems, drilling and grouting equipment, and specialist lifting and handling tools. Cadeler, which operates a fleet of offshore wind installation vessels, will now be able to offer clients a more integrated service, covering both the transport and installation of turbines and the foundational work that precedes them.

The acquisition is strategic for Cadeler because it reduces reliance on third-party equipment suppliers for a critical phase of offshore wind projects. By owning Menck’s technology, Cadeler gains direct control over the hammering and foundation installation process, which is often a bottleneck in project timelines. This vertical integration is expected to improve project scheduling certainty and operational efficiency, particularly as demand for fixed-bottom foundations grows in markets like the North Sea and Asia.

For Menck, the move provides access to Cadeler’s global project pipeline and financial resources, which could accelerate the development of its next-generation equipment. The company’s existing customer relationships and engineering expertise will remain intact, with Menck operating as a distinct unit within Cadeler’s structure. No changes to Menck’s leadership or workforce have been announced.

The combined entity will be positioned to bid on larger, more complex offshore wind contracts, offering a single point of accountability from seabed preparation to turbine installation. As the industry pushes toward deeper waters and larger turbines, the integration of Menck’s tools with Cadeler’s vessels may prove a competitive advantage, though the full impact will depend on how smoothly the two organizations align their operations in the coming quarters.
