Sinay has acquired MariTrace for an undisclosed amount. MariTrace specializes in global vessel monitoring and ship tracking, utilizing an extensive network of satellite and terrestrial AIS receivers to track hundreds of thousands of vessels, from tugs to tankers, worldwide.

MariTrace offers an intuitive map interface, which users can enhance with various data overlays and detailed ship-tracking information. Each monitored vessel provides up to 35 data attributes, including position history, draught changes, and port calls, making it a natural choice for comprehensive ship-tracking needs. Beyond real-time tracking, the platform also provides access to a vast, filterable database of thousands of piracy incidents spanning many years, alongside on-demand risk assessments to analyze vessel safety along specific routes in seconds.

Furthermore, MariTrace delivers real-time global shipping trade data, enabling users to analyze all aspects of global shipping. This capability supports the development of unique market insights, identification of investment opportunities, and monitoring of individual ships or entire industry sectors. By systematically tracking the worldwide movements of over 50,000 commercial ships across 7,500 ports and blending this with proprietary data sets, MariTrace provides a unique perspective on more than 100,000 individual cargo movements occurring monthly.

This acquisition is a strategic move for Sinay, aiming to integrate MariTrace's comprehensive vessel tracking, risk assessment, and global trade data capabilities. The combination is expected to enhance Sinay's offerings in maritime intelligence and data solutions, providing customers with a more robust and expansive suite of tools. The combined entity is poised to deliver deeper insights and more comprehensive data solutions to the global maritime industry.
