JPB Partners has acquired Marathon Live, a full-service facility management and operating company, for an undisclosed amount. This corporate acquisition sees JPB Partners taking ownership of Marathon Live's entire portfolio of live entertainment venues and event management operations.
Marathon Live, established with the opening of Marathon Music Works in Nashville in 2011, quickly became a prominent mid-sized venue and remains one of the city’s last independently owned and operated facilities. Its portfolio has since expanded to include The Truman in Kansas City, The Signal in Chattanooga, The Hall in Little Rock, The Hawthorn in St. Louis, and FIVE in Jacksonville, FL. These venues have hosted a diverse range of artists, including GRAMMY Award winners St. Vincent and Gary Clark Jr., CMA award winners Ashley McBryde and Luke Combs, and touring legends such as Dropkick Murphys and Cage the Elephant. Beyond concerts, Marathon Live venues are also utilized for weddings, galas, fundraisers, trade shows, and corporate events for clients like Red Bull, T-Mobile, and Pandora.
The acquisition by JPB Partners is a strategic move to expand its footprint within the live entertainment and event management sector. JPB Partners has bought Marathon Live to integrate its proven operational expertise and established network of venues into its broader investment strategy. This move is expected to generate significant synergies, combining Marathon Live's strong brand recognition and operational excellence with JPB Partners' strategic resources and financial backing.
Looking ahead, the combined entity is poised to capitalize on the growing demand for live experiences. The acquisition aims to enhance operational efficiencies across Marathon Live's existing venues and potentially support future expansion initiatives, further solidifying its position in the competitive entertainment market.
